very funny blog….you could probably do it as stand-up….I think the rabbi told me (really) that every parent is given from above the perfect name for his child that has to do with the child’s personality, soul, destiny…..

My mom named me Bethany, but used to call me “shit-for-brains,” hence the college degrees in early childhood education, human development, and counseling psychology, as well as a life long career in child development. But the joke is on her because I thought she was saying, “shivver-brains,” what with the drunken slurring and all, which, like much of her dysfunctional behavior, didn’t make any sense to this budding intellect. The result is that I understood at a very very young age that it was her problem not mine, so let this be a lesson to would be life-ruiners everywhere. If you’re going to try to ruin your kid’s self-image, lay off the sauce so you can enunciate your beratings more clearly. Otherwise they just might grow up smart and functional and able to enjoy intelligent humorous blogs.
